Native trees will grow in a healthy way to their full magnitude. They also would attract a lot of native and regional birds and serve as their habitat.
Our children who live in an age of deforestation should not only know about saving the environment but should also practice it throughout their lifetime. Only then will their generations sustain life.
Planting different varieties of native trees inside the school campus, will also lead them to do so at their home and surroundings.
The project came to life through the hands of his Holiness Shri Kumara Gurubara Swamigal of Kaumara Madalayam. His Holiness planted the first sapling. The next two saplings were planted by Mr.Sundaresan Selvarayan, a renowned Educationalist who runs educational institutions in Mauritius.
On 23.01.08 K'sirs was visited by a group of 21 American, Canadian & European nationals belonging to the Integral Yoga Institute. As part of their exchange program they had come to Kaumara Madalayam. They continued the planting of saplings with love and prayers.
It was a sweet surprise to listen them reciting of Thirupugazh with clarity. We were taken aback when these Americans sung the hymns in praise of Lord Muruga in Tamil.
This environment Project has now joined hands with Siruthuli.
K'sirs has become a green guardian under project Pasum Pulari.
